So much for the pose.

The Washington Post reports that today the Senate voted to extend the Bush tax cuts for the rich by a whopping 62 vote margin:

After a decade of the partisan sniping tax credits issued in the George W. Bush administration, the Senate overwhelmingly agreed to a plan you than Dec. 31 81 19 vote to keep the cuts in the village for families income at all for another two years beyond.

Comedian/Senator Al Franken of Minnesota explains why he voted for the extension of all of the Bush tax cuts:

A lot of people are unhappy punted the President first down, and I am one of you. Expand the excessive Bush tax breaks for millionaires and billionaires is our deficit without something to help our economy explode in the next two years. I think it's just bad politics.

But fight for Minnesota's middle class, by in a tough economy, there is a lot in this Bill that will really help: tax cuts for working families, one Payroll payroll tax holiday, energy tax credits and the extension of the Recovery Act initiatives that already make a difference.

I liked better francs if he was moderately fun.
